Mark Harris (politician)

Mark Harris (born December 14, 1984) is a US politician based out of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Harris won fame in May 2006 when he beat Thomas L. Stevenson, a five-term incumbent in a district Republican primary for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He is currently the campaign manager for Pat Toomey's campaign against Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA).[1]

Harris is notable for both his youth and his web-based campaigning. Prior to running for office, Harris worked as a blogger and technology consultant, then became active in Young Conservatives in Pennsylvania. He has also worked for the political campaigns of Pat Toomey and Herman Cain. After the election Harris served as National Director for Students for Saving Social Security through May 2007. Harris most recently served as Deputy Campaign Manager for Jim Ogonowski's special election campaign in the Massachusetts 5th Congressional District. Harris served as the Campaign Manager for Chris Hackett's campaign for Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District.

Mark briefly served as an Account Executive at Jamestown Associates,[2] a Republican political consulting firm. Starting in April, Mark became a staffer for former Congressman Pat Toomey's campaign for the US Senate in Pennsylvania.
